The magic word you need for Tinder dating success
THERE is a secret to getting more matches on Tinder and that secret doesn't involved flashing more boob in your profile pic.
Nope - finding love online is apparently as simple as mentioning guacamole in your bio.
A new study of more than 3.7 million dating profiles found that referencing food in your bio dramatically boosted your popularity.
"Overall, any mention of food in an online dating profile is going to result in an increase in inbound messages," the study, conducted by new dating app Zoosk, stated.
Not all food is created equal, however. Guacamole, surprisingly, is the sexiest foodstuff, increasing your chance of being messaged by 144%, followed by potatoes (101%) and chocolate (100%).
So far, so sensible - who doesn't love guacamole, hot chips and chocolate? The next item on the hot list however, is more confusing: Salad. Apparently mentioning salad makes you 97% more likely to be matched. So much for "you don't win friends with salad".
The rest of the clickable foods are far more understandable - avocado (91%), pasta (75%), cheese (75%), cake (72%), burgers (68%) and ice cream (62%).
"There are a few exceptions however. Interestingly enough, despite the fact that it is both delicious and wonderful, mentioning fried chicken in a dating profile results in 15 percent fewer messages," the research continued.
If fried chicken is your only true passion but you don't want to become a dating outcast, you can boost your popularity by mentioning you're a "foodie" (82% increase in messages) or even that you enjoy cooking (26% more).
