Man charged over marijuana plants
A NORTH Burnett resident has been charged for multiple drug offences after a police raid on Thursday March 29.
Gin Gin police seized more than 20 marijuana plants from a Mt Perry residence after an anonymous report was made to Crime Stoppers.
Sergeant for the Gin Gin police Sharon Morgan said police executed a search warrant for the Mt Perry house where they located the plants.
Sgt Morgan said one was about knee-high and the others were seedlings.
"The information came from Crime Stoppers which is really good,” she said.
"It comes after our community forum which went well with about 40 people in attendance.
"If we don't know about it, we can't stop it so it's great to see the community is coming forward with information.”
A 42-year-old man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.
He has been issued with a notice to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on April 23.
"We're really grateful that people have come forward to assist us in removing drugs from the street,” she said.
"We had the drug unit here the other day, we are committed to preventing crime in the community.”
Anyone with information can phone Policelink on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
