VIDEO: Police to charge man over Alma St stabbing today

4pm:  A 33-year-old man has been charged with inflicting grevous bodily harm to two men in an Alma St hostel this morning.  He will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.

2pm: POLICE are expecting to charge a man with grievous bodily harm this afternoon after a stabbing incident this morning.

Rockhampton CIB Detective Sergeant Steve Paskin told the media one man was assisting police with enquiries and charges were expect to be laid this afternoon.

He said the alleged offender was armed when police arrived at the scene where two men sustained injuries in an altercation.

Det Sgt Paskin said the alleged offender did not fight police officers when they approached.

12.50pm:  A MAN in police custody is expected to be charged later today over the stabbing incident in Alma St this morning.

Investigations are continuing, but at this stage police are still not aware of the circumstances which led to two men being stabbed.

9.15am: THREE men were treated by Queensland Ambulance officers at a Rockhampton mens hostel this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Ozcare Homeless Hostel for men in Alma St just before 7am, Rockhampton Senior Operations Supervisor Bradley Meirs said.

He said when the first crew arrived found male (33-years-old) patient with significant stab wounds to abdomen and upper chest. Further patients became evident with stab wounds to abdomen and hands.

Mr Meirs said two patients transported to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition but with multiple stab wounds

He said a third patient in police custody had stab wound to his right hand.

"We provided two critical care paramedics to the scene," Mr Meirs said.

"This is highly unlikely for Rocky to see this violence, especially on a Tuesday morning."

Police are investigating.
 

 

7.55am: TWO men have been taken to Rockhampton Hospital with stab wounds after an incident at a hostel this morning.

One man has sustained a stab wound to the ribs and the other man has sustained a wound to the right hand.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Ozcare Homeless Hostel for men in Alma Street.

Police are investigating.

7am: EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a stabbing at a Rockhampton hostel.

Reports indicate one man has severe stabs wounds to the abdominal area while another has a stab wound to the hand.

One man is in police custody.

It is believed the incident is at the Ozcare Homeless Hostel (Men) in Alma Street.
