MARK Curtis, James Galloway and Bryce Dorries know the secret behind growing a successful moustache.

Besides having good genetics, if it's not obvious - you simply don't shave.

Knows as Monto Mo Bros, last month the three put their razor away to raise awareness and money for men's health issues.

The big finale was a Movember Day at Monto Golf Club on November 28.

"I read about Movember in the Courier Mail once, and thought, that's an easy thing to do - the rules are clear," Curtis said.

"I am a member here at the golf club which is what inspired the special day here.

"The community has been very supportive, and about 50 people have come to play golf on the day over the past three years."

Out of the Monto Mo Bros, Dorries is the only one who said their partner does not mind the upper lip hair. Luckily for the other two, their moustaches are now free to go thanks to December's arrival.

The fundraising aspect of the day brought participants of all ages and abilities, including Zac Baldwin.

The 15-year-old has been getting coached after school for a few months and came out with a range of family members to play.

To add to the light heartedness of the day, his highlight was the opposite of what you would usually expect. "The best part was doing bad shots and hitting the ball out of bounds," he said.
