Monto Mitre 10 twice the size under the Millers

IN APRIL, Brett and Jocelyn Miller will have owned Monto Mitre 10 for two years.

In that time, led by customer demand, they have added dozens of new items to their store and expanded most of their sections.

“It’s come to the point where people have to have a walk around the entire store to have a good look at all of our stock items,” Brett said.

Just some of the items they stock, which may not be obvious at first glance of their Newton St shopfront, include: decking and hardwood timbers, a large range of power tools, an expanded range of interior and exterior paints, lighting, line trimmers and both push and ride on mowers, camping equipment, gazebos, security doors & windows, plumbing equipment, complete bathroom accessories, hot water systems, bricks and pavers, insulation, a wide range of garden accessories, pots and planters, potting mixes, fertilisers and chemicals, cleaning products, electrical appliances, customised kitchens and outdoor furniture.

Not only that, but they’ve also just completed their first order for an above ground swimming pool.

With Christmas fast approaching, Mitre 10 stocks a unique range of thoughtful gifts for all ages including, but not limited to, WoodWick Candles, clocks, photo frames, serving ware, wind chimes, wall art, country wares, Willow Tree ornaments, mirrors and lamps, and not to mention some great gifts for the kids.

“It’s endless,” he said.

Brett said the business owed a debt of gratitude to local builders and tradies who offered their expertise in helping Mitre 10 to select the best new products to stock.

“They’ve really assisted me in this department” he said.

Brett, who is a born and bred North Burnett local, has been in business for decades. Previously, he owned the former TopX in Eidsvold and also the Eidsvold Saleyards.

He said he enjoys owning small businesses and Mitre 10 is no different.

“Joccy and I are fortunate to have a great team of staff who really enjoy helping our customers, often joking about the Mitre 10 moto: ‘Mighty Helpful, Mitre 10,’” Brett said.

“I especially enjoy the friendly banter with people plus you never stopp learning about the industry.

Make Christmas shopping a breeze this year and call in and see Brett, Jocelyn and their team for all your Christmas gift shopping this year.
