RECKLESS thieves have allegedly broken into a Monto resident's car with a screwdriver.

On the morning of October 18, Rae Hampson woke up to see her car's fuel tank open outside of her house.

Puzzled by the site, Ms Hampson questioned her roommate on whether they had filled up her car.

After responding they had topped it up, Ms Hampson then queried why the fuel tank was now open.

Upon further inspection, it appears the criminals broke into her car using a screwdriver, and stole up to $100 in valuables.

To add insult to injury, they also siphoned the fuel from her car.
