Monto's senior teams continue strong start to season

MONTO Soccer Club's two senior teams have continued their strong start to the season, both winning their encounters in Biloela on Saturday.

U16 Mavericks put in a clinical performance, running out 8-0 victors against their opponents.

Declan Howlett helped himself to a four-goal haul, Blake Barnett netted a hat-trick, and Isaac Green, playing up from the U14B Strikers, also chipped in with a goal.

Green was pulling the strings behind the scenes, assisting in all seven goals scored by his teammates.

Coach Natasha Howlett said the success up front was assisted by her hardworking back-line, who repelled every opposition advance.

Green was also in the thick of things for the Strikers, scoring a goal alongside teammate Matthew Baldwin for a 2-1 victory over their Callide United opponents.

Monto Soccer Club will play another round of games this weekend at Biloela Valleys' home ground.
