Motorcross riders out in force at race day
MOTORCROSS: The Central Burnett Motorcycle Club held its race day in Mundubbera with riders from across the Wide Bay region and even on the Sunshine Coast in attendance.
Although the race day didn't break records with riders, the entire event was a success with no injuries recorded.
Club President Wayne Sparrow said it was a great event for those who love riding and it was a day to be with your mates on the track.
"It's good competition with some really fast riders at the MX track,” Sparrow said.
"We have some really good competition with Lance Cameron who races nationals and he is a junior under 16, Jeremy Sauer is another one and some older riders like Jason Cliff and Mick Little to name a few.”
"We were hoping to have around 90 to 100 competitors but unfortunately we only got around 75 riders.”
From Hervey Bay, to the Sunshine Coast and even as far as Brisbane, riders checked out the course and only had good things to say.
Sparrow said the track has improved considerably.
"The track is nice and soft, it's held the moisture really well and the conditions were great,” Sparrow said.
"Just to see everyone out and enjoying it, we had quite a few first timers out here and they came up and said to me - mate we never realised you had a track this good and we'll be back next time.”
