Muriel's Wedding the musical set to hit stages
THE iconic Australian film Muriel's Wedding is being turned into a musical.
Sydney Theatre Company said the film's original writer-director PJ Hogan has updated his screenplay for a new stage show, with award-winning singer-songwriters Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall composing new songs. The musical will still feature the ABBA songs that helped make the movie such a hit when it was released in 1994.
Fans will have to wait until next year to see the show, but that's not so terrible, Muriel.
