Mystery "Nazi slur" signs targeting Queensland councillors

A MYSTERY sign that seemingly made a Nazi slur at several councillors has been denounced by Damien Tessmann.

Cr Tessmann saw the sign pinned on to the Wondai welcome sign yesterday, which mentions him and fellow councillors Keith Campbell and Kathy Duff.

What annoyed him was the way SS was spelt in his name, which was written in the style of the Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary organisation of the Nazi Party, more commonly known as the "SS".

"We've all got thick skins in politics but to bring in nasties like this is unnecessary," Cr Tessmann said.

"I don't think there is any place for it and it's sad that it gets to this level."

The sign was taken down yesterday.
