A BUDDY Bench has been constructed at the Eidsvold State School thanks to funding from the community bank.

The funding is part of the Dream and Do project where schools in the Burnett receive funding to carry out a specific project.

Mundubbera Community Bank secretary Alex O'Neill said the purpose of the bench was for kids to look out for one another.

"It's a friendship seat where students can go and sit if they are feeling down,” Mrs O'Neill said.

"The other students will keep an eye out and go and sit with that student to ensure they don't feel alone.

The school's groundsman Brian MacPherson built the buddy seat and the students thought up the design and colour.

Mrs O'Neill said schools in the region have used the Dream and Do funding for building various items such as vegetable gardens and upgrading school laptops.

"Other schools have used the funds for other projects like school vegetable gardens, recycling system for paper waste, upgrading ipads, creating flag pole garden and erecting a new flag pole,” Mrs O'Neill said.
