New changes coming for waste

NORTH Burnett Regional Council has proposed a new law for waste management as of November 9.

Possible anti-competitive provisions have been identified in the proposed local law.

Currently, the council is conducting a public interest test in relation to possible anti-competitive provisions identified in the proposed local law.

The object of this local law is to protect the public health, safety and amenity related to waste management by regulating the storage, servicing and removal of waste.

Residents have until December 1 to dispute the proposition.
