New format but same quality, commitment
THE Times has embarked on the most exciting change in its rich history.
Like a trusted friend, our newspapers are read by thousands of readers each week, connecting readers with their local news on the issues that matter most.
We are proud of the role we play in our communities and our newspapers are the vibrant voice of their neighbourhoods.
Our readers are highly engaged with our print product and are immensely proud of where they live and want their local paper to reflect pride in their community.
Seeing advertising from local businesses in their local paper helps readers to show their community pride by shopping locally.
Local advertising is important to our readers with 78 per cent saying they pay regular attention to advertisements in their local paper and most looking for specials or shopping deals.
And for most, reading about real estate in their local paper is the first step in their real estate journey.
Our newspapers play a critical role in the busy lives of our readers and to continue to deliver on the deep connection we share with them and our advertisers, we are evolving. In what is an Australian first for News Corp Australia's regional newspapers, we have converted the Times to a new more compact format that allows for a stronger visual presentation of editorial content and advertising and ensures the long-term sustainability of our papers.
While the size of this publication is changing, our commitment to our local communities is not.
From tomorrow, the Times will be published in this new format.
The page design of our new compact format will allow us to publish more articles in our newspapers, giving readers more bang for their buck.
The title is a passionate advocate for the community.
In years ahead we will continue to be the trusted, proud voices, campaigning for the issues that matter and providing the most up-to-date information and entertainment.
For advertisers, the trusted environment this newspaper offers will remain as strong as ever and will continue to connect your brand with an engaged audience, helping you reach your customers.

IF you've read this far, you will have noticed your local newspaper has a new look about it.
We have followed the lead of papers such as the Bundaberg NewsMail in transitioning to a more compact, brighter format.
By making this change, we hope to provide you, the reader, with a better experience, while still bringing you the important, incisive local news you have come to expect.
It is no secret that Australia's media environment is changing at a rapid pace.
Did you know, nation-wide, there are 21 local governments areas with no local news?
Their newspaper has folded and nothing has risen up in its place.
Here at the Times, we have no intention of going anywhere.
But that commitment means we must be flexible, adaptable and redouble our commitment to providing the sort of news our community has come to expect.
By supporting our organisation, you are supporting four local jobs.
We live in the community, we fuel up locally, we shop at our nearest supermarket, we tell your stories, because no one else will.
