New opportunities for the youngsters

RUGBY LEAGUE: Central Burnett Rugby League is calling for young children in the under-6, under-8 and under-10 category to play rugby league this season.

President Ian Sanderson said for those parents struggling to take their kids to matches, the committee would be bringing games to the region.

"The committee of the Central Burnett League is committed to allow as many children as possible an opportunity to play rugby league by bringing the game to areas where there are no junior rugby league clubs,” Sanderson said.

To register your child's interest, please contact your local senior rugby league club.

Alternatively, you can register your child directly on www.playNRL.com.

To allow the carnivals to proceed, volunteers will be required to coach, referee and mark out the fields.

If you're interested in coaching or refereeing, please contact your local senior club or Central Burnett Rugby League President Ian Sanderson on 0427063993 or secretary Melinda Thorburn on 0427951795.

Courses are run regularly.
