North Burnett volunteers will be recognised on Tuesday
COME along to Gayndah on Tuesday, May 10 to celebrate the hard work of the region's volunteers.
The Annual Volunteer Awards will bring all those making a difference in the community to one place.
Organiser David Finnis said the role volunteers play locally is invaluable.
"Volunteering forms a large part of the sustainability of rural communities and events such as this recognise and foster volunteering," he said.
"I am always impressed and deeply moved by the sacrifices people make to support not-for-profit organisations within their community."
The event will also be a chance to learn about volunteering opportunities in the North Burnett.
Non-for-profit organisations are invited to join the celebrations, with the chance to set up stalls with the purpose of promoting activity and possibly attracting new members.
The celebration will be in Gayndah Shire Hall, starting at 9am with the awards ceremony to begin at about 10.30am.
