North Burnett welcomes new Community Services manager

MONTO-born Carol Chapman has started as the new centre manager at North Burnett Community Services in Mundubbera.

She has worked in the community care sector throughout her career, and was originally introduced to the facility four years ago.

“I filled in for John Sharp who was the centre manager here when he went on long-service leave,” Ms Chapman said.

After her departure, Ms Chapman continued to work in the services sector, in different areas of Queensland.

She spent some of her time in Maryborough as a dementia educator, and in aged care assessments for the Commonwealth Home Support Services program.

But Ms Chapman was always keen on returning to the country.

“I know I enjoyed it last time and I know I will again,” she said.

In her new role, she plans to introduce more programs which will draw people into the centre, while taking a more sustainable and ecological approach.

Collaboration is important to her as well, and she welcomes any kind of partnership that will create good outcomes for the community.

“I like sharing my ideas with other people and organisations, and using expertise to do things together,” Ms Chapman said.
