Nose bitten off during Murwillumbah pub brawl

A MAN had his nose bitten off during a pub brawl at the Riverview Hotel in Murwilllumbah.

Tweed Byron Local Area Command police confirmed they attended an assault at the Tweed Valley Way premises on Thursday night.

Widely circulated social media reports indicate the massive brawl could have been over a stolen cricket bat, and left the man with facial injuries requiring plastic surgery.

"Really upsetting, this has happened to a good man who tried to stop two people fighting," one comment read.

It's been reported three police cars and one Ambulance attended the scene, before conveying the injured man to hospital.

Investigations are continuing and further updates are to come. The hotel has declined to comment.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Tweed Heads Police station.
