Permits cancelled amid 'extreme' fire conditions

FIRE permits have been cancelled in the South Burnett and North Burnett.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson said permits were cancelled until further notice.

Cameron Bond from Cherbourg Fire Station said conditions were expected to be extreme.

"Due to the extreme weather conditions over the next 48 hours please do not light any fires including backyard bonfires," Mr Bond said.

"Help keep our fire fighters at home safe not out in the danger of a running bush fire."
