DOZENS of people turned out to the Mundubbera State School trivia night on Friday night.

The event was raising funds for students to travel to Melbourne to compete at the Australian Volleyball School Championships, one of the largest school sport competitions in the Southern Hemisphere.

Several Year 10 students, who had seen some of the answers before the night, were auctioned off to help the teams answer questions.

Matthew Zipf raised the most amount of money, selling for $190.

He was bought by the Whelan Racing team, who ended up winning the competition.

Organiser Adrian Brady said he was pleased with the turnout.

He said a previous fundraiser for the trip raised more than $1000.
