MONTO is alive this long weekend and the main street was rocking on Saturday morning for the Dairy Festival's showpiece parade.

The iconic procession is a true spectacle and, for many, the highlight of the biennial event.

Netwon St closed and crowds lined the footpath and balconies of adjacent pubs and cafes to get the best vantage point as livestock, floats, tractors, cars, bikes and emergency service vehicles crawled down the hill toward the showgrounds.

Participants decorated their floats in the spirit of this year's theme, Mustering the Mob, and the town turned out in force to admire the handiwork.

Relive all the action from the 2018 dairy extravaganza in our photo gallery.

Celebrations are expected to continue late into the night at the showgrounds with rides, food, live music and fireworks.

More to come.
