Pieces of history stolen near Monto

POLICE are investigating the suspected theft of two collector's vehicles from a property near Monto.

A grey 1961 EK Holden Utility vehicle and a blue Mako Italian motor scooter were stolen from an unused farmhouse shed at Kapaldo.

The exact time of the theft is unknown, but is suspected to have taken place sometime in August to September.

Both vehicles were non-operational prior to the theft, but were planned to be restored by the owners, lending them a significant monetary value.

They also had sentimental value to the owners, being possessed by the family for a number of years.

Monto police sergeant Mick Bazzo said they currently had few leads and were appealing to the general public to assist if they could.

"Both of the vehicles were non-operational, so they would likely need a trailer to transport,” Sgt Bazzo said.

"We will continue to investigate the matter, but we urge any members of the community who might have information on the disappearances to come forward.”

To report any information, phone the Monto police station on 41661211.

In the event of an emergency, dial 000.
