Got the Boxing Day blues? This drink could be the cure
IT'S common knowledge not to mix alcohol with work, but getting on the booze was part of Steve Devlin's job.
The Sunshine Coast man was testing a formula to help prevent the morning-after effects of drinking many of us regrettably know all too well.
"It was really as primitive as going out and drinking some beers, and seeing how I felt the next morning," Mr Devlin said.
"I used to say I was drinking for science."
Between waking up at 4am to research ingredients and staying up late to drink, Mr Devlin was determined to create a product that would process the by-products of alcohol.
Thanks to his noble service, iRise was born.

He said the concoction would allow all to enjoy a night out without enduring a nasty hangover the next day, when consumed between the first and last drink of the night.
"Naturally people are a little sceptical with a drink like this, but we want people to know that it works well," he said.
"It's not about getting drunk and thinking it will keep you sober. You need to drink responsibly.
"But the reviews speak for themselves. Even as a sceptic myself, when I woke up the next morning without a hangover, it was such a surreal experience.
"People are going to drink alcohol, so why not do it in a healthy way?"
Featuring ingredients like Japanese raisin berry and Korean pear, Mr Devlin said it was important to him to make the drink plant-based, gluten-free and sugar-free.
"Rather than put a lot of fake stuff in there, we wanted to keep it natural," he said.
"It's super healthy for you."
