P&O; cruise calls passengers back to ship amidst siege
P&O has called passengers on a shore visit back to their ship as Papua New Guinean authorities escalate a tense stand off with a group of armed robbers.
SBS News reports tear gas was fired into the offices of PNG Airlines this afternoon after an attempted armed robbery.
The ship - the Pacific Aria - is docked in the tourist town Alotau, in the Milne Bay province but is reportedly expected to set sail shortly.
