Police chase down suspects after supermarket break-in

POLICE are reviewing CCTV footage at the Dalby Foodworks after a number of offenders forced their way inside through the rear of the store overnight Tuesday.

Initial investigations suggest at least two people forced their way in to the supermarket about 11pm before stealing a number of generic items and fleeing the shop.

CCTV footage has been seized and police are following up a number of inquiry lines into the theft.

It is the latest in a modest spike in break-and-enter offences in the Western Downs town, with police urging homeowners to be cautious about home security.

A car was stolen after an offender stole keys left outside a home sometime on Monday night.

"For those who are the unfortunate victims, they need to be extra vigilant with their property security," Dalby police Senior Constable Jamie Leonard said.

"Just be a little extra careful over the next couple of weeks," he said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Dalby police on 46699222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
