Woman faces court: allegedly ran over boyfriend's sister

A WARWICK woman faced the local magistrates court after she allegedly attempted to hit a 24-year-old woman with her car after a disagreement at the weekend.

Dusty-Lee Grace Grant is dating the young woman's brother and the pair allegedly became involved in an argument just after noon on Sunday.

Police will allege the altercation resulted in a car being driven towards the 24-year-old Warwick woman which struck her and knocked her to the ground.

The incident took place at the intersection on Palmerin and Fitzroy Sts, outside the Cherry Tree cafe.

It's alleged Grant ran her vehicle into the back of the victim's legs.

Police said the victim kept her balance and ran across Fitzroy St when Grant chased her and struck her again, this time knocking her to the ground.

The young woman was taken to hospital and was treated for swelling, bruising and shock.

Grant was arrested and charged with one count of intending to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was also charged with other unrelated charges including wilful damage, trespass and a public nuisance charge.

The matter was adjourned and she was remanded in custody.

Grant is due to reappear on September 30.
