Service awards for community bank directors

LONGSTANDING board members of North Burnett Community Enterprises, which operates the Mundubbera Community Bank and agencies in Gayndah and Taroom, have received service awards at the business’s 13th AGM.

Bendigo Bank state manager Gavin Holden spoke about the value of the Community Bank network around Queensland and presented service awards to directors Letetia Berthelsen and Louise Newman, and to former director Sue Payne at the meeting on Friday night.

Mundubbera branch manager Rob Watt provided information about scammers targeting local customers and stressed how important it was for customers to be cautious about providing banking and personal details over the phone.

He welcomed anyone worried about the privacy of their accounts to phone or call into the branch to chat to either himself or staff.

North Burnett Community Enterprises announced its second dividend payment in the 2018–19 financial year, and more than $24,000 in grants and contributions to the North Burnett and Dawson Valley communities.
