Smoke alert issued, Hawkwood grass fire

FIREFIGHTERS are warning residents to be cautious as the Hawkwood locality continues to be affected by smoke. This comes after a large grass fire broke out between Burrows Road and Lawes Road on Friday September 25.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) Crews are no longer required on scene, however smoke continues to reduce visibility and air quality.

Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
