Snake on a train! Police nab slippery rail passenger

POLICE nabbed a three-foot jungle python called 'Bread' from a train passenger on NSW's central coast early today.

Brisbane Water Local Area Command officers scaled their reptilian fears and slithered into action when a 20-year-old man proudly introduced his long pet to fellow passengers about 1am on the northbound Woy Woy train.

The snake-lover did not have a permit for the reptile and officers were forced to take it into their command when the train pulled into Woy Woy Station.

"A number of passengers were concerned for the welfare of the snake and contacted police," a police spokesperson said.

"Officers spoke to the man at Woy Woy Railway Station who stated that he did not have a permit for the snake, named 'Bread'.

"Police confiscated the snake and conveyed it to Woy Woy Police Station where it is expected to be examined by staff from a reptile park today." - ARM NEWSDESK
