RECKON you love a Victoria Bitter tinnie?

Not as much as this South Australian bloke - who has stockpiled an estimated 30,000 empty cans in his backyard shed on the Yorke Peninsula.

The mystery Moonta man, dubbed "VB's biggest fan", shows off his collection while swimming through the green sea of cans in a series of YouTube videos.

Yet the sheer size of the endeavour isn't lost on him as he asks; "how do I get out of here"?

The journey to fill the wooden shed started about 15 years ago according to the video's narrator, and means an average of five-and-a-half cans had to be added to the collection per day over that period.

It is not clear whether he had help.

"One man, tens of thousands of VB cans, this is it," the video's narrator says. "Some guys call it the ultimate beer pit and they're pretty correct in saying that."

The man's work may not be without reward.

In South Australia, aluminium cans can be scrapped for 10c a piece - making his empty can collection worth upwards of $3000.

But it's a small pay-off for what would've been a hefty investment.

A 30-can block of Victoria Bitter cans currently retails for around $55. Which means, in today's money, the man has spent about $55,000 on the beer.

Just $52,000, or 94.5 per cent, in depreciation.

Reckon it was worth the investment?
