St George home destroyed in fire

A HOUSE has been destroyed by fire on Saturday night in St George.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the house on the corner of Alfred and Church Sts was well-involved when fire fighters arrived.

The spokeswoman said QFES got the call about 9.28pm on Saturday night and fire fighters were on scene until 2.19am.

The destroyed house is still smouldering.

No one was at home when the fire started.

It is not yet confirmed what the cause of the blaze was.
