Stabbed teen girl in hospital after home invasion

A TEENAGE girl was taken to hospital after she was assaulted in a home invasion at Warner overnight.

Police said initial investigations indicate the incident occurred at a Curlew Court residence around 2.45am after the home was broken into.

The victim was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Media reports suggested the 16-year-old had been stabbed.

Police said it is believed that the victim and the offender may be known to each other.

A crime scene has been established with investigations continuing.
