Tenders to be called for Burnett water study

SOUTH Burnett Regional Council is continuing its commitment to investigating the best options for water security in the South Burnett.

Mayor Keith Campbell provided an update during today's general council meeting.

A single consultancy will be sought from the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund Steering Committee to undertake a full water study in the region.

This will result in a single document to cover all work across both the South and North Burnett regional council areas.

A call for tenders will be initiated to start the process and the Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy will manage the procurement and contract the consultation.

Both the North and South Burnett regional councils will lead the community engagement as the project progresses.

This development comes after the two regional councils were appointed $2 million towards a study into water supply and security by the Federal Government.
