Once on scene, the Queensland Ambulance Service Intensive Care Flight Paramedic was winched from CareFlight's helicopter at low level to assess and treat the injured man.

He was then transferred to the waiting helicopter at Orchid Beach and flown to Hervey Bay Hospital. He travelled in a stable condition.
