Two bashed during Gold Coast home invasion

POLICE are hunting two men who were armed with a hammer and a piece of wood during a home invasion on the Gold Coast.

Police said two men were assaulted in the Miami drama.

Around 9pm, two men armed gained entry to the garage of a Pacific Avenue home and threatened two occupants.

The men fled after a female occupant walked in and disrupted the disturbance.

As the men fled, one of them has used their weapon to smash a rear passenger window of a vehicle belonging to the occupants.

As a result of the altercation a 46-year-old man sustained lacerations, bruising and swelling to his face, head, upper body, fractured arm.

A 50-year-old man sustained lacerations, swelling and bruising to his face, arms and upper body.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

Initial investigations indicate the men fled the scene in a vehicle.

A search is underway to identify those responsible.
