Vehicle hits pedestrian on road due for safety upgrades
A MAN in his 40s was transported to Biggenden Hospital by ambulance on Thursday night after a vehicle hit a pedestrian at Degilbo.
The man was suffering head and leg injuries, but was in a stable condition.
The accident occurred at 8.25pm on Gooroolba Biggenden Rd, which has safety improvement works scheduled to begin soon by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
In June last year residents organised a petition for the road to be upgraded.
At the time, resident Bronwen Stark said the bitumen was getting narrower by the day.
"The road is dangerous and just waiting for an accident to happen,” she told the Central and North Burnett Times.
