WA fires: Blaze continues to threaten homes in Meelon
AROUND 150 firefighters have spent the night strengthening containment lines around an out-of-control blaze near Meelon in the Shire of Harvey, south of Perth.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said the blaze was currently stationary, but was unpredictable and an emergency warning remained in place.
The warning currently in place is for people in Meelon as well as people south of Pinjarra-Williams Road, east of Nicholson Road, north of Madison Road and bounded by Scarp Road to the east.
The warning also covers the Murray Hills Estate.
DFES said homes in Coolup Road East, Ridgeview Drive and Valley View Road remained under immediate threat.
