THE family of missing Gatton teen Jayde Kendall is making a desperate plea online for her safe return.

It has been a heart-wrenching 10 days since Jayde, 16, was last seen getting into a red car after school.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Knight from the Homicide Unit said they had widened the search for Jayde yesterday bringing in police, police divers, the SES, forensic officers and the stock squad on horseback to Gatton.

"At the moment the focus is in the area surrounding Apex Park and the back of the cemetery (in Gatton)," he said.

"We have got search teams out there staffing it extensively and we are appealing for members of the public to come forward with information."

Det Snr Sgt Knight said police were acting on information gathered from multiple sources and had received a number of calls from the public to Crime Stoppers.

He emphasised that police were exploring every option and had not lost hope in finding Jayde.

"Police are reminding the community to keep an open mind searching for Jayde Kendall," he said.

Jayde's aunt Jenny Morrissey posted to the Help Find Jayde Facebook page thanking the public for keeping Jayde in their minds.

Yesterday she posted that it had been nine days since they had been able to "hug our gorgeous Jayde and tell her how much she is loved".

"Please bring her home to us. We are desperate to find her," she wrote.

Jayde disappeared seemingly without a trace on August 14. So far the only link to her has been an item found near Walloon, more than 40km from where she was last seen getting into a red 2003 Toyota Corolla hatchback with an 18-year-old man, who has since been interviewed by police.

Police are urging any members of the public who saw the car, which allegedly travelled in the Gatton CBD and surrounds between 3pm and 6pm, to come forward.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
