Whales filmed inside Moreton Bay

A POD of whales were spotted inside Moreton Bay today - just off the Tangalooma Island Resort.

"Today is a special day as we have just received footage from our Eco Rangers of whales spotted in the bay right in front of Tangalooma Island Resort," a spokeswoman from Tangalooma said.

"This never happens so early into the season!"

The humpback whale migration begins in April and ends in November each year, where the South Pacific humpback whales migrate from Antarctica to Whitsundays to mate and give birth to their calves, it's a return journey of 16,000 km.
