Woman dies after being hit by bus

A WOMAN has died after she was hit by a bus while crossing the road in Brisbane early this morning.

Police said preliminary information indicated the 23-year-old was cross the road at the intersection of Upper Roma St and Saul St when the bus struck her at about 3.45am.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Meanwhile, two men are in a serious condition after a single vehicle crash near Ipswich last night.

Police said a sedan was travelling eastbound on Clare Av, Redbank when it failed to negotiate a right turn and collided with steel bollards at the intersection of Law St South at about 1.35am.

The three male passengers aged 25, 27 and 46 were taken to the Princess Alexandra and Ipswich hospitals, two of them suffering from serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
