High acuity paramedics, police and QFES were called to the scene in Chelmer at 4.40pm yesterday however the 21-year-old woman died at the scene.

Two men - aged 21 and 46 - were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital while a toddler was taken to Queensland Children's Hospital with minor injuries.

QAS senior operation supervisor David Ward said police were investigating the circumstances of the incident, but it seemed the boat has come aground.

"At this point all the circumstances aren't clear and QPS are investigating but we have suspicions that that might have been what occurred," he said.

He also said people nearby assisted emergency services after the incident.

"With the assistance of the people living in the area we've had no difficulty accessing the patients." Mr Ward said.

The three patients who were taken to hospital were conscious and walking before being transported.

Police investigations are ongoing.
