Gayndah woman dies in hospital after crash

GAYNDAH woman Samantha Mcleod has died in hospital after a single vehicle traffic crash near Gayndah last month.

The 37-year-old was pronounced deceased in hospital on Monday, October 15.

Around 1am on September 30, a member of the public located a vehicle in bushland off Gayndah Mundubbera Road, approximately 10 kilometres west of Gayndah.

Emergency services attended the scene where they extracted the driver from the vehicle.

The female driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment for significant head injuries.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman also suffered suspected fractures to her right arm and leg, and was treated for spinal precautions.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and is appealing for any information regarding the incident.
