Woman smashes window to get to alcohol
A 43-year-old Cherbourg woman has faced court after smashing a window to get her own property back.
Lorraine Davidson pleaded guilty to a wilful damage charge and possessing a pipe used in conjunction with dangerous drugs in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 5.
The court heard the woman had been out socialising with people at a Cherbourg residence on September 22.
When reading out the statement of facts, Prosecutor Pepe Gangemi said she had returned later when she realised she had left her alcohol at the residence.
The court heard the people at the house had refused to return the alcohol or let Davidson back in the house.
The prosecutor said the defendant then smashed her way into the house through the window to get her alcohol.
"It is a different style of offending,” Sgt Gangemi said.
Davidson was also charged in relation to a pipe used to smoke marijuana which was found by police officers on October 1.
The court heard the water pipe was found in the bedroom at around 8pm when police officers searched the property.
Magistrate Lousia Pink said the offences breached Davidson's suspended sentence for common assault, however the wilful damage was unlike previous offences.
"The offending on this occasion was a different type of offending and not as serious as personal violence,” she said.
The suspended sentence was extended by a month, with the defendant required to now serve a total of 16 months suspended sentence.
"If you breach it again, you might not get the same result,” she said.
She was fined a total of $400 for both charges.
Convictions were recorded.
