LEG spinner Adam Zampa says Australia will go into tonight's final T20 clash in India with renewed hope after turning the tables on its hosts in the last match in Guwahati.

After a disappointing one-day series which was lost 4-1, Australia was looking at an eighth-straight defeat in limited-overs cricket.

Australia has dropped to sixth in the T20 rankings despite the rise of the Big Bash League and Aussies all strarring in the Indian Premier League.

A win tonight would see the tourists replace the hosts in fifth on the rankings and Zampa said it would be exactly what the side needed after a difficult tour of the sub-continent.

"We spoke about keep improving and getting better. We felt like during the ODIs that didn't happen,” he said.

"We have trained really hard, we've trained specifically as well to keep improving and get a win. Hopefully now we can make the series one-all in terms of having a series each.”

Australia's resurgence was led by two players who were free of any scars picked up in the demoralising ODI series - fast bowler Jason Behrendorff and all-rounder Moises Henriques.

Zampa is another who also had a good game two, bouncing back from a tough tour with 2-19 off four overs.

"I probably wasn't bowling at my best so to come back feeling confident and getting a couple of big wickets, I felt like I bowled really well,” he said.
